MEET THE TEAM

Ashlee was born and raised in Alamogordo, NM, where she grew to love the desert outdoors. After determining that she wanted to be a lawyer at eight years old, Ashlee started her first job at 15 years old as a secretary for a criminal defense attorney. In 2012, Ashlee graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.

Ashlee attended the UNLV Boyd School of Law part-time evening program while working full-time at a law firm and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), helping foster children in court. During her time at Boyd, Ashlee was also selected to be a student attorney with the Mediation Clinic, which provides mediation services to small claims and family court litigants. Ashlee received mediation training from the renowned Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution.

In 2016, Ashlee obtained her Juris Doctor from Boyd School of Law, where she received a CALI award as the top student in her legal writing class and the Highest Pro Bono Honors. In 2017, Ashlee was licensed to practice law in Nevada and the U.S. District Court of Nevada.

In 2018, she was awarded the Outstanding Service Award for her work as a CASA. During law school, Ashlee first worked for a probate and estate planning firm. In 2014, Ashlee joined a prominent family law firm, where she started as a legal assistant, moved up to law clerk, and eventually Supervising Attorney and Partner. Her experience in each aspect of working in a law firm gives her keen insight into the procedural methods for obtaining the best results for her clients.

In 2023, Ashlee opened her own law firm. Ashlee focuses her practice on contested divorce and child custody cases and family law appeals. Ashlee's extensive knowledge of family law in Nevada extends to numerous cases she's briefed in the Nevada Court of Appeals and Nevada Supreme Court, which have resulted in several Nevada Advanced Opinions. Ashlee's appellate experience includes division of community assets and debts, alimony, physical custody, domestic violence, grandparent visitation, guardianship, attorney's fees, child support, and legal custody issues.

In her spare time, Ashlee enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and snowboarding. 

Kimber is a Las Vegas Native. She graduated from Clark High School’s math and science magnet program in 2011 and earned a dual-major Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Sociology from UNLV in 2015. Kimber began working at the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2013, where she reported about local crime and the courts, including harrowing stories of child abuse and neglect. Her time as a reporter inspired her to become an attorney and represent her fellow Southern Nevadans.  

Kimber attended the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV while continuing to work part-time at the Las Vegas Review-Journal. In the summer of 2017, she worked as a law clerk on civil rights cases and interned for the Honorable Judge Jerry Wiese. During the summer of 2018, she worked as a law clerk at the ACLU of Nevada, where she helped advocate for the humane treatment of prisoners, taught community classes about civil rights restoration, and helped protect the rights of the city’s houseless population.  

While at Boyd, Kimber was an executive board member of PILA and OutLaws (a law student organization focused on LGTBQ advocacy), and was a member of Immigration Law Society, the Organization of Women Law Students, and the Health Law Society. Kimber co-instructed a weekly Paternity and Custody course at UNLV, and she also worked for the Family Justice Clinic as a student attorney, litigating cases related to guardianship, adoption, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.  

In 2019, Kimber obtained her Juris Doctor from Boyd, receiving awards for her work in the Family Justice Clinic.  Kimber was licensed to practice law in Nevada and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada in 2019. 

Avea was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. Frequent trips to Washington, D.C. during her formative years sparked her early ambition to pursue the law.

In 2011, Avea moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2020 and moved seamlessly into the legal profession. She began her career at a boutique estate and corporate law firm, where she developed a meticulous approach to legal work. She later transitioned to a mid-sized Las Vegas family law firm, where she refined her skills and developed a lasting commitment to family law while preparing for the Law School Admissions Test.

In 2024, Avea began pursuing her Juris Doctor at UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law through the part-time evening program while maintaining a full-time role in family law. Now in her second year, she is a certified mediator through the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the William S. Boyd School of Law. She extends her impact beyond her role by assisting pro se individuals with Self-Help pleadings, mentoring aspiring Latino law students, and advocating for reproductive autonomy.

Avea aspires to practice family law in Nevada, focusing on community property division, child custody, domestic violence matters, guardianships, and child support.

Outside the office, Avea enjoys reading science fiction, hiking, exploring farmers’ markets, and spending time with her family.
